what happened to me in Oman

It is now 5 years me being kicked out
and robbed in Oman for the 1^st time. By fighting back the
authorities returned my clinic. This means, they returned my
property, my equipments of the German Fertility Center back into my
custody. It was big event in November 2009 - 1^st page of
the Newspapers were announcing the success of Oman law and justice
that was given to me. I appreciate this and know it was the help of
just one person, the deputy prosecutor general.

Yes I got the equipments back, but the
authorities did not support me at all. Though the Ministry of Health
promised to help or min. give me my rights, they tried to slow the
things down. My new license for the center e.g. was issued in
February 2010 but handed over in October only. Especially the former
head of the MoH for private entities, Dr. Alia, was creating one
hassle after the other. And this culminated in the advice to take a
person from MoH as a sponsor to smooth the things down. Not following
this advice was the start of creating problems what finally made the
clinic collaps. But it was not only her! Also the director for
quality management, Dr. Hamed, tried to block as much as he could.
When ever I talked to him he lied or told me something that was not
true. As he was personally related to the previous sponsor of the old
Center, he of course did favors for this person by putting what ever
hassles he was able to create, on me. By delaying requests, by
spreading rumors about me as a bad person, about our work being
unprofessional and so on and so on. Even the Minister of Health, whom
I never met, was sure that I am an unprofessional and bad person
doing only illegal things! Nevertheless I survived somehow. It was
hard, I had to inject a lot of money (more than 100.000 OR) in the
NewLife Fertility Center – but till the time I left Oman (16^th
of March 2014) around 50 babies were created, babies who would not
exist if I would have left and stayed away the first time. This makes
me proud as I know, and me as a Muslim believe in this, if you safe
or create on life, it is like saving whole human beings. Many people
think that me converting to Islam in 2008 was a kind of PR gag. They
are sure of this as I do not appear like a “normal” Muslim lady.
But wearing Abaiya and Sheela does not make me a better Muslim –
and I don't need the approval of the people to believe in Islam. It
is even better people not knowing what I believe, in this they
consider me being unaware and ignorant of Islam. But this I mention
just for getting me to know better and tell about my approach in
Oman.

Despite all problems and difficulties
(not only from MoH, but also from Ministry of Manpower, or
Immigrations – the only Ministry with almost always correct actions
was the MoC!), dispite my partners (sponsors) not supporting me or
the clinic at all, the clinic grew and I tried to support my staff by
paying good salaries, giving them benefits like inviting them for one
week to Germany and so on. Also the majority of our patients were
very happy with us and I was (I am!) sure, that the service we gave
to the country and its people was very good.

In January 2014 MoH (Dr. Hamed and Alia
again!) started a compain that was supposed to destroy my clinic.
Wrong accusations and scurrilous rumors and threats and finally
raising a case for an totally constructed issue led to the fact, that
they spread the rumor the clinic is closed by MoH (that was not true,
but it made the staff not working proper as they were scared that
they are doing illegal things!).

As MoH has raised the case, prosecution
had to follow up with it. Unfortunately the MoH – again Dr. Hamed
was in charge – provided wrong medical terms to the prosecutor,
what made them collect my passport. Collecting my passport was
preventing me from traveling. It is not that I wanted to travel for
own pleasure! As I am a cancer patient – struggling for a long time
(again I did not advertise this to get benefits or sympathy – and
even feeling sick, only a very small no. of people knew about!) I had
started a new session of treatment in September 2013 as the tumor
markers went high. This treatment was scheduled in September, in
November 2013 and end of January 2014. I presented attestations to
the prosecution but they did not give me the permission to attend
this treatment. Even the letter of the German embassy to hand over
the passport to me was ignored. Only in March 2014 – 2 months later
and by paying 2000 Rials they handed over the passport. For me it had
a life-threatening consequence, as I had to get a much stronger
treatment what made me loose my hair (so even people thinking I am
stylish by cutting my hair that short – had wrong suggestions!)

And as sometimes life proves you too
hard, there was a serious car accident of one of my sons and his
family, and it was not sure that they will survive. This was the
reason, I had to go for an emergency leave. And something I never
expected – my sponsor (member of Royal Family) took over the clinic
only 12 hours after I left Oman, closed it, and tried to sell it. One
thing he did not consider, that a closed clinic is almost unsellable
unless you sell it very cheap. When he noticed this, he wanted to
make himself victim – and announced rumors about me, me as a
criminal and bad person, taking advantage of him and others. Who ever
is reading this, by Allah I swear I never did. My intention was and
is to help people and in this I do not look for my own benefit or
profit! Why did I not come back till now. Only 1 month back I
finished my treatment and I am still under observation – means as
the case still is not finalized the prosecution will take my passport
again and prevent me from traveling. So I have to choose between
supporting my health or trying to get something back from my clinic.
I decided to live and support my health as still I want to go on
helping people (I applied as a volunteer for one year to work for
orphans in Latin America for example).

And there is an other reason that
prevents me from going back to Oman – I need to mention, that I
like Oman too much. It is and was like a home country for me. By
arguing on problems or single people it does not mean that I am
insulting a country. Every person, every society, every nation is
growing by listing to constructive criticism. People who keep quiet
and seem to be loyal to the country, are only interested in their own
personal benefits. Only people who try to eliminate problems and
mistakes support a country or society. I even was considering to
change my nationality – this is how I feel for this country called
Sultanate of Oman!

Since 2010 I tried to implement renal
dialysis units in Oman. There were many efforts in this almost 3
years – presentations, visits, contacts, etc. Finally I even
founded a company (Omani owned) to start the project. As everything
now was almost done – what happened? Being away – one of the
so-called partners (a well-known Omani nephrologist!) took over the
project by twisting the truth and taking the advantage of my 3 years
struggling for this project. Again it is the work of one person –
but the work of one, and one, and one person reflects the tendency
and even worst – it shows me that I am not wanted in this country.

Oman and its population is worth to
fight for them, they need still a support in know-how and knowledge.
Such a young country, that due HM tremendous efforts, developed to a
modern country within only 42 years, is worth to be supported – but
it seems that some ignorant and corrupt people try to avoid these
efforts.
